Concert Music Samples                       Season Poster

Hello Music Patrons,

Welcome to the Brentwood Westwood Symphony Orchestra’s website! Our beloved Maestro Alvin Mills presented three spectacular concerts at the University Synagogue on Sunset Blvd. in Brentwood, just west of the 405 Freeway, and additional special locations as noted in the Archives. He shared the baton with Associate Conductor Diego Miralles. The “Artists Of Tomorrow “ concert showcased the winners of our annual competition, where young, promising musicians show off their extraordinary talents. We also perform extra concerts in school outreach programs, with local community service groups, and invite local residents to join us as musicians.

Although our aspiration is to continue presenting wonderful free concerts, our future is uncertain and we need your support now. For over 60 years you have supported us by your contributions to continue our quest. Your donations are vital to the longevity of our orchestra and with your help, we will be able to journey upon an unforgettable montage of sonic landscapes at a world class level. Thank you for ALL your support as we continue to celebrate music together.

Diego Miralles accepts two year contract renewal.

It is with great joy and anticipation that the BWSO Board of Directors has granted Los Angeles based conductor Diego Miralles a two year contact renewal to continue to enrich our concert series with his creative and energetic performances. In our first concert of this season he produced an innovative multi-media performance of Bruno Bozetto's Allegro Non Troppo which was a big hit with the audience members and musicians alike. We look forward to seeing more of Diego's energy in the concerts to come!

Alvin Mills turns 92!

In our last performance Music Director Alvin Mills was pleasantly surprised by a round of 'Happy Birthday" performed by the entire orchestra.  All continue to be charmed by his conducting prowess and it is rumored that he may be setting a new Guiness world record as the longest standing conductor/founder of a community orchestra.
